ehvLINC is a startup incubator that focuses on the legal and fiscal household of startups. It is a known fact that startups do not put enough thought into legal issues in the first period of their existence. The potential harm of not arranging legal issues in an early stage is significant, but getting a tailored legal solution used to be very expensive. ehvLINC created a program where lawyers, law students and startups meet in an accessible but professional way. In order not to compromise the quality of legal support, we engaged entrepreneur-friendly law firms, which guide students in their legal work.
During a 6-month period, ehvLINC will help startups get their legal household in order. With the help of Masters students and law/tax firms we help startups get their legal matters at a professional level. Students will work with one of the selected startups one day a week. The students will research the possible solutions for the legal problems they encounter at the startup. They filter all the problems, and structure them into a legal report. Qualified lawyers will review the legal report before delivering it to the startup.
By bringing startups, students and law firms together, the startup get good quality legal support, which will help it to avoid bigger problems in the future. The students will get practical experience from a really good first hand source, plus the opportunity to connect with the law firms. The law firms will have the opportunity to connect with the startup community and thus potential new clients. By the pre-selection of ehvLINC and work done by students, this connection can be established more efficiently. Because all parties involved benefit from the collaboration the costs for running the project are very low, so no equity or whatsoever will be taken from the startups.
